I'm embarking now on week 3 of 15 weeks of this first semester, have I mentioned that I detest history???
now I don't detest all history, but a lot of it does bore me to tears...
I don't like the war histories, I don't like the political histories and I don't like the "wild wild west" histories....
I like the kind of histories that have to do with cultures, lifestyles, medicines...etc..sure, everything has everything to do with everything, and that's okay, but.....
as significant as building the railroad was....I'm not interested....
as significant as the constitution and the amendments are, I'm not interested...
I like the "chick flick" history...high society chicks, cotillions, courting, primitive marriage ceremonies...
child birthing back in the day, advances in medicine, lifespans, plagues...etc...you get my drift...
I must say though, reading all these pages of "since 1865" post reconstruction...
I found some notable quotes never before heard by my little ears...
William Graham Sumner: "A drunkard in the gutter is just where he ought to be"
that is soooooo true...
anyways, if I can conquer this history class, learn a little something (and remember it all)...then, I know, I can do anything!!!
but, tis 2:33 am here, and history class starts in 6.5 hours, so I better get some sleep...
or I'll be history!!!
